Are you a performer who wants to connect better with your audience? Have you worked out your routine and costume but want to add a whole other dimension? With a few simple exercises we can help you develop your performance character or further flush out your existing stage personae. Free forty minute workshop for all levels of performers taught by Dave McKay (Lunacy Cabaret) and Morgan Joy (Humber School of Comedy). A series of Body warm-up isolations will explore new ways the body could move from head to toe. Along with isolations, head, neck, chest, pelvis and arm waves and rolls will be broken down in order to achieve seamless movement. 4-4:45pm Introduction to Contact Juggling/”Crystal Ball” Manipulation with Joe Laszlo
Popularized by David Bowie’s “Goblin King” character in the mid-80s movie “Labyrinth”, and more recently by “Fushigi magic balls”, “contact juggling”, is a mesmerizing and magical-looking object manipulation art form, in which performers move and roll solid-coloured, reflective or transparent (acrylic) “crystal” balls about in their hands & over their body, making them appear to float and move in impossible-seeming ways. Joe will introduce a variety of basic “CJ” skills that will help even absolute beginners get started magically “floating” & rolling like pros. Balls & props will be provided & available for sale or order.

The boa in burlesque can be used for numerous purposes, from representing a lover or the softness of ones skin, to simply a luxurious mode of covering the body. This workshop will be a playful way to discover your inner burlesque vamp using the most classic prop in burlesque – the feather boa.
530-545pm Bare Basics of Burlesque – The Glove Tease with Miss Esther De Ville
Learn about the bare basics of burlesque with this introduction to The Glove Tease! Watch Esther as she demonstrates to you the numerous ways to reveal your hands. She will be covering long opera gloves, as well as short smoking or riding gloves. The possibilities are endless with this beginners trick!
